Your first shift in WashUp

Your first shift in WashUp

Four things get you through day one: sign in, work today's task list, run an inspection, and flag anything broken.

September 28, 2026

Your first shift with WashUp replaces the clipboard by the door and the group text nobody reads. We've broken it into four steps:

  1. Sign in
  2. Find today's tasks
  3. Run your first inspection
  4. Report anything broken

Step 1: Sign in

There are two ways in, and which one you use depends on what your manager set up.

If you have your own account, sign in with your email address and password on the Sign In page.

If you're at a tablet that's already signed in as the location, you won't type an email at all. Pick your name from the picker at the top of the screen and enter your 4-digit PIN. When your shift ends, select Sign out to hand the tablet back to the next person.

  • Sign in to WashUp
  • Location Login on a shared tablet

  • Reset your password
NoteYour name only appears in the tablet's picker once you've set a PIN. If it isn't there, set one under Settings > Security.

Step 2: Find today's tasks

Tasks are the opening, midday, and closing work your wash does every day: pull the trench screens, wipe down the pay stations, check the vacuum hoses. Select Tasks in the side menu and you'll see what's due today, grouped by list.

Some tasks can only be completed inside a time window, and some ask for a photo or a note before they'll close. Work top to bottom and tick them off as you go.

Step 3: Run your first inspection

An inspection is a walkthrough with a scorecard. Select Inspections in the side menu, pick your bay, choose the inspection, and select Start Inspection. Rate each item Red (Critical), Yellow (Needs Attention), or Green (Passed), and add a note and a photo on anything that isn't right.

Anything you mark Red or Yellow becomes an Attention Item that stays open until someone fixes it. Finishing the inspection doesn't close it.

Step 4: Report anything broken

You don't have to wait for an inspection. If the top brush is dragging or a dryer is making a noise it didn't make yesterday, select Inspections in the side menu, then Report an Issue in the upper-right corner. Pick the bay and the equipment, say what you saw, attach a photo, and it lands in the same Attention Items list your manager works from.

Pro tipSnap the photo before you write the note. A picture of the worn wrap material saves your manager a trip out to the tunnel.

What's next?

  • Put WashUp on the device you carry—see Download the WashUp app.
  • Quiet the alerts you don't need—every notification starts on, and you can turn them off per location under Manage email and push notifications.
