Intro to Tasks

Intro to Tasks

Stay on top of daily operations—without micromanaging. Repeatable checklists your team can follow, appearing on their own each day.

September 28, 2026

Stay on top of daily operations—without micromanaging. Tasks turns the checks your team runs every shift into lists that show up on their own, get checked off on the floor, and leave a record of what actually got done.

What you'll need

  • Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Tasks.
  • Anyone at the location can see the day's tasks and complete them. Building lists is for Admins and Super Admins.

What is Tasks?

Tasks is the clipboard that hangs by the door, except it refills itself every morning and nobody has to remember where the pen went. You build a list once—wipe the pay station screens, check the trench, pull the mats—and WashUp creates that day's copy for whoever is on shift.

What it replaces: the whiteboard, the group text at 6am, and the shift lead's memory.

What you can do with Tasks

  • Build a routine list that repeats on the days you choose, like an opening or closing checklist.
  • Build a situational list that waits until something happens, like a storm or a power cut.
  • Add a one-time task for a job that only needs doing once.
  • Require a note or a photo before a task can be checked off.
  • Keep a task off the floor team's list entirely when it's an admin job.

How Tasks works

Build a list → WashUp creates the day's tasks → Your team checks them off → What's left shows as Past Due or Missed

Example: the closing checklist. You build it once with 9 items and set it to repeat daily. Every evening the crew opens Tasks, works down the list, and checks items off. The dryer belt check nobody got to shows up in Past Due at open, because that list has Task Aging on. See Task Aging enabled vs disabled.

The day's page groups tasks into Past Due, Incomplete, Upcoming, Completed, and Missed, and a date picker lets you look back at any day. The Task Library holds the lists themselves.

Common questions

Do I have to assign every task to someone?

No. A task can sit unassigned and anyone on shift can complete it.

Who can do this?

Only Admins and Super Admins build lists. Anyone at the location completes tasks and adds notes.

Does this affect my other locations?

No. Task lists belong to one location. Duplicating a list is how you reuse it at another site.
