Set up a new location

Get a new site running in WashUp—confirm its details, switch on the modules it needs, map the wash, assign your team, and copy what already works.

September 29, 2026

Opening a second site is mostly copying what already works at the first one. We've broken it into steps:

  1. Confirm the location details
  2. Turn on the modules this site needs
  3. Map the wash in My Wash
  4. Assign your team and check notifications
  5. Copy your inspections and task lists

Step 1: Confirm the location details

WashUp creates the location record itself, so contact them to have the site added to your company.

Once it exists, open Settings > Locations, select the site, and fill in Location Details: Name of Location, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Country and Timezone.

Use the name your crew already says out loud. It shows in the location picker and on every record the site produces. Timezone matters most—task windows, service due dates and inspection timestamps all run off it, and nobody can work at a location that doesn't have one.

Pro tipName sites the way a driver would: 5th Street, Highway 89, Airport. Never Location 2.

Step 2: Turn on the modules this site needs

Modules are switched on per location, not per company, so a new site starts with My Wash only. Inspections, Services, Tasks, Incidents, Scheduler and Chat each have to be added for this site, even when your other sites already have them.

Select a module in the side menu. If it isn't on yet you land on a page describing it with a Contact Sales to Add button.

  • Add a feature to your plan

Step 3: Map the wash in My Wash

Bays and equipment come first, because Inspections, Services and Tasks all pull from them.

With no bays yet, My Wash offers three ways in:

  • Create blank—name the bays and areas yourself, then add equipment.
  • Duplicate a location—copy a bay from a site you've already set up.
  • Upload CSV—name a bay, then load many items from a spreadsheet.

For a second site of the same build, duplicating is the fast route and brings the inspections with it. See Roll out WashUp to another location.

  • Create wash bays and areas
  • Add equipment to a bay
  • Import equipment from a CSV file
Pro tipCopy the room that breaks most first—the pump room, then the tunnel. Serial numbers and install dates for the new units can be filled in after opening.

Step 4: Assign your team and check notifications

Nobody sees a location until they're assigned to it. Open Settings > Locations, select the site, then the Assigned Users tab, and select Assign User. For people who don't have an account yet, Copy User Invite Link at the top of the page gives you a link that lasts 30 days.

Assigning someone switches on every email and push notification for this location. Each person turns off the ones they don't want under Settings > Notifications.

  • Invite new users
  • Manage email and push notifications

Step 5: Copy your inspections and task lists

Inspections come across with the bay copy in step 3. Task lists have their own route, and both are covered step by step in Roll out WashUp to another location.

Building from scratch instead? Start with Build an inspection.

  • Duplicate a task list from another location
  • Build an inspection

What's next?

  • Run the first inspection—catch what the build crew left behind before a customer does.
  • Put the pumps, dryers and conveyor on a service schedule—the new site's warranty clock starts now.
  • Build the opening and closing checklists—so a brand-new crew runs the site the way your other sites run.
