Resolve an attention item

Resolve an attention item

Close out an issue with the date it was actually fixed, a note on what was done, and before-and-after photos.

September 28, 2026

The brush is replaced and the bay is running again. Resolving the item takes it off the open list and writes what happened into the record.

What you'll need

  • Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Inspections.
  • Anyone at the location can resolve an item. You don't need to be an Admin.

Mark an item resolved

To resolve an item:

  1. Select Inspections in the side menu, then the item you fixed.
  2. Select Mark as Resolved in the upper-right corner.
  3. Set When was this attention item resolved? to the day the work was actually done.
  4. Describe what was done under Resolution Notes.
  5. Select Click to attach files to add before-and-after photos or a receipt.
  6. Select Mark as Resolved.

The date defaults to today and won't accept a future date. Resolution Notes is required, so there's always a record of the fix.

On a numeric item you'll also see Auto-Status Threshold. Enter the reading you took when you finished, and the status updates from the thresholds the item was built with.

Resolving from an inspection

If you mark a previously flagged item Green during a run, WashUp opens the same resolve step rather than quietly clearing it. That way a passing check and a written fix stay tied together.

What changes after you resolve

The item drops off All Attention Items and the count in the left menu goes down by one. Its Status reads Resolved, its Progress reads Closed, and the Details tab gains a Completion Date and Completed By.

Everything else on the page turns read-only. Your resolution note and attachments appear on the timeline alongside the original report.

Good to know
  • Resolving is permanent from the app. There's no reopen button, so if the problem comes back, report it as a new issue.
  • The resolution date is what Resolved History groups by, so backdating it to the real fix date keeps your history honest.
  • Anyone at the location can resolve any item, including one assigned to somebody else.

Common questions

Can I undo this?

No. There's no reopen, so check the fix is finished before you resolve. If the problem returns, report it as a new issue.

Who can do this?

Anyone at the location, including someone the item was never assigned to.

Will my team get notified?

Yes. Resolving sends a notification to whoever has that alert switched on, and the resolution note goes on the item's timeline for everyone to read.
