You sent the wrong bay number. Every message carries a small set of actions for fixing that, plus reactions for when a reply isn't needed.
What you'll need
- Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Chat.
- Anyone in the conversation can use these. Deleting someone else's message is the one exception.
Open a message's actions
Hover over a message, or press and hold it, to reach its actions. You get Edit, Quote, React and Mark unread, plus Delete where you're allowed to.
Edit a message
Choose Edit, change the text, and save. There's no time limit, so an hour-old message can still be corrected.
Editing changes the message for everyone in the conversation, including people who already read it.
Delete a message
Choose Delete and confirm.
- Your own messages: anyone can delete their own, whatever their role.
- Anyone's messages: Super Admins and Admins can delete any message in a conversation.
If you're a Team Member and Delete isn't on someone else's message, that's why.
React to a message
Choose React and pick a reaction. It attaches under the message where everyone in the conversation can see it, which is the quick way to acknowledge something without adding another line to a busy chat.
Mark a message unread
Mark unread puts the conversation back in your unread list so it resurfaces later. It affects only you.
Good to know- Deleting a message doesn't recall the notification. If push went out, people already saw the preview.
- Reactions are visible to everyone in the conversation, not just the sender.
- Editing leaves the message in place rather than reposting it, so it won't jump to the bottom of the conversation.
Common questions
Can I undo deleting a message?
No. Deleting is final, so post a correction rather than trying to restore it.
Who can do this?
Anyone can edit, react to, and delete their own messages. Only Super Admins and Admins can delete someone else's.
Will people know I edited something?
Everyone sees the updated text. Add a short follow-up if the change matters to a decision somebody already acted on.
