Contact UsPending, Approved, Denied—what each status on a time-off or availability request means, and what it does to the schedule.
Time-off requests and availability requests use the same three statuses, and both carry a written reason for whatever was decided.
| Status | What it means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Sent in, nobody has decided yet | An Admin reviews it under Requests |
| Approved | Signed off and applied to the schedule | Nothing—it's on the calendar |
| Denied | Reviewed and turned down, with a reason | Read the reason, then file a new request if it still needs sorting |
An Approved availability block stops anyone scheduling that person during those hours, at every location they're assigned to. An Admin can still override a single date, and the employee is told when that happens.
A day with a time-off request on it—Pending or Approved—has no plus sign for adding a shift, so nobody gets booked over it by accident.
A Denied request changes nothing. The schedule carries on as if it was never sent.
Both the Requests list and the employee's own list are split into Pending, Approved, and Denied tabs. Open any request and the history underneath shows every step: Request Submitted, then Approved or Denied, each with the reason, the name behind it, and the time.
A denied request is final. It can't be reopened or resubmitted, so the employee files a new request. The reason the manager gave stays on the original, which is what the new request should work around.
rejected. If you ever see rejected in data pulled out of WashUp, it's the same status.
