Two different jobs. Time off is for dates—a Friday in June. Availability is for the hours you're never free, week after week.
What you'll need
- Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Employee Scheduler.
- Anyone on your team can send in both kinds of request, and an Admin reviews them.
- Admins and Super Admins file their own from the same page using Schedule Time-Off, and theirs are approved as soon as they're saved.
Request time off
To request time off:
- Select Schedule in the side menu, then Time-Off & Availability.
- Select Request Time-Off.
- Pick a Start Date, and an End date (if applicable) for more than one day.
- Set Start time and End time, or tick All Day.
- Write what it's for under Description.
- Select Submit.
The request lands as Pending and your Admins are emailed.
Block hours you're never free
To set your recurring availability:
- Select Schedule in the side menu, then Time-Off & Availability.
- Select the My Availability tab.
- Select the pencil beside the day you're blocking.
- Set Start time and End time, or tick All Day.
- Write a Reason.
- Select Save Changes.
Once it's approved, that block stops you being scheduled on that weekday at every location you're assigned to.
Good to know- Availability runs between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Times outside that get pulled back inside it.
- An All Day block replaces anything else you'd set on the same weekday.
- You can change or delete a request only while it's Pending. Once it's Approved or Denied the form is read-only.
Common questions
Can I change a request after I've sent it?
Only while it's Pending. Once it's approved or denied the form is read-only.
My request was denied. Can I resubmit it?
No. A denied request stays denied. Submit a new one, and use the reason your manager gave to adjust the dates.
Will I get notified?
Yes. You get an email and a push when the decision is made, and a denial carries the reason with it.
