Time-off and availability requests queue up in one place, with a red count on the menu item so nothing sits for a week.
What you'll need
- Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Employee Scheduler.
- Admins and Super Admins review requests. The item isn't shown to Team Members.
Approve or deny a request
To review a request:
- Select Schedule in the side menu, then Requests.
- Choose Time-Off Requests or Availability Requests.
- On the Pending tab, select the arrow on the row to open it.
- Read what they wrote, then select Approve or Deny.
- For a denial, write a Reason and select Submit.
The decision applies right away and the employee is emailed. Approved and Denied each have their own tab, so the history stays with the request.
Change a decision you've already made
To change a status:
- Open the request from the Approved or Denied tab.
- Select Change Status.
- Choose Approved or Denied.
- Write a Reason to Change. It's required, and the employee sees it.
- Select Change Status.
Good to know- Approving takes one select and asks for nothing. Denying always asks for a reason, so the employee never gets a bare no.
- Every decision stays on the request with its reason, the name behind it, and the time, oldest first.
- Approved availability blocks new shifts in those hours unless you override them, and a day with time off on it has no plus sign to add a shift to.
Common questions
Will my team get notified?
Yes. Approvals and denials both send an email and a push, and a denial carries your reason with it.
Can I change a decision?
Yes. Reopen the request and set it the other way. Every decision stays on the record with its reason and your name.
Who can do this?
Only Admins and Super Admins. The approval queue isn't shown to Team Members at all.
