Deleting someone doesn't wipe them. They move to the Deleted Users tab, and an Admin or Super Admin can put them back—with the locations they had—at any time.
What you'll need
- Super Admins and Admins can restore users. Team Members don't see Users and Roles.
Restore a user
To restore someone:
- Select Settings > Users and Roles.
- Select the Deleted Users tab.
- Find the person, using Search deleted users... if the list is long.
- Select Restore on their row.
- Check the name, email and role in the Restore User Account window.
- Select Restore Account.
You land on their User Details page. Their password is unchanged, so they can sign in right away.
You can also open the person from the Deleted Users list and use Restore User Account on their page.
What comes back with them
- The locations they were assigned to before, as long as those locations still exist. If none do, they're put on your first location so they aren't stranded.
- The role they held when they were deleted.
- A fresh invitation, good for 30 days, if they never finished setting up their account.
Good to know- The Deleted Users list keeps Deleted On and Deleted By, so you can see who removed them and when.
- Restoring is the only way to free their email address for a new account.
- The delete window says the action cannot be undone. That copy is wrong—the delete is a soft delete, and this is how you undo it.
Common questions
Does restoring send them an email?
No. Nothing goes out. If they never finished setup, a fresh invitation link appears on their page for you to send.
Who can do this?
Only Admins and Super Admins. Deleted Users isn't shown to Team Members.
Can I free up their email without restoring them?
No. Restoring is the only way to release the address for a new account.
