Somebody leaves and you want them out of the app. Deleting their account removes their access and keeps everything they did.
What you'll need
- Only Admins and Super Admins can delete a user.
- Nobody can delete a Super Admin. Lower their role first, or ask support.
Delete the account
To remove someone:
- Select your name in the lower-left corner, then Settings.
If you don't see it, open the side menu first.
- Select Users and Roles, then the person.
- Select Delete User Account.
- Select Delete User to confirm.
They lose access straight away and move to the Deleted Users tab.
The window's warning is wrong
The confirmation says the action cannot be undone. It can. This is a soft delete: the person moves to Deleted Users, which records Deleted On and Deleted By, and they can be restored from there.
Treat it as removing access rather than erasing a person. See Restore a deleted user.
What happens to their work
Everything they did stays where it is. Completed inspections, services, tasks, notes and incidents keep their name on them, so your history stays readable.
If you need to reuse their email
Their email address stays claimed while the account sits in Deleted Users. Restoring them is the only way to release it. See I can't reuse a deleted user's email.
Good to know- The Account Owner can't be deleted at all. WashUp answers Cannot delete an Account Owner. Please transfer ownership before deleting this user.
- Deleting doesn't remove their name from past work, which is the point.
- Cancelling a pending invitation is a different action and is permanent.
Common questions
Can I undo this?
Yes. The delete is a soft delete, so restore them from the Deleted Users tab.
Who can do this?
Admins and Super Admins, for anyone except a Super Admin or the Account Owner.
Does it free up their email address?
No. The address stays claimed until you restore the account.
