Contact UsThe address is still held by the deleted account. Restore that person from Settings > Users and Roles > Deleted Users and the email is free again.
A deleted user still holds their email address. Restore them from the Deleted Users tab and the address is usable again.
This is the usual one. Deleting someone in WashUp is a soft delete: they lose access straight away, but the record—and the email on it—stays.
You'll see it twice in the Add New User window. The Email Address field turns red with This email belongs to a deleted user. Please restore the user from the Deleted Users tab instead., and saving anyway returns This email still belongs to a deleted user. Restore that user from the Deleted Users tab, or contact support if they are not listed there.
To free the address:
Restoring brings back the person, their role and their old locations, so if it's the same crew member coming back you're already done.
Current email address is already in use. Try using another email address. means an active user in your company has it. Search the Active Users tab for the address and edit that account instead of adding a second one.
Cancelling an invitation isn't a soft delete. It removes the person for good, so they never reach Deleted Users and the address should be free. If WashUp still blocks it, contact support.
