Who's covering Saturday. Which supplier we're using. A poll settles it in the chat instead of a thread of replies nobody reads to the end.
What you'll need
- Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Chat.
- Anyone in a conversation can create a poll. There's no role restriction.
Create a poll
To ask the conversation a question:
- Open the conversation and select the attachment control beside the message box.
- Choose the poll option to open Create poll.
- Type your question under Question.
- Fill in Add an option for each answer, adding as many as you need.
- Turn on any of the four options below.
- Select CREATE.
The poll posts into the conversation as a message, so everyone in that chat can see and answer it.
The four options

All four start switched off, so a plain poll is one question, one answer each, with names visible.
Where polls can be used
Anywhere you can send a message: a location chat, a group chat, or a direct message. A poll in a location chat reaches everyone assigned to that site.
Good to know- Options are set when you create the poll. Unless you turned on Allow option suggestion, nobody can add to the list afterwards.
- Anonymous poll can't be switched on later, so decide before you post if people need to answer freely.
- A poll is a message like any other, so muting the conversation also mutes the poll.

Will my team get notified?
Yes, the same as any message, unless chat push is off for your company or they've muted the conversation.
