Assign technicians to customers

Assign users to a customer from its Assigned Users tab. Access starts right away, and removing someone drops it just as fast.

September 29, 2026

An assignment is what puts a customer on a Technician's dashboard and lets them use Log In As on it. Without one, they can't see that customer at all.

What you'll need

  • Only Service Partner Admins can assign. The Assigned Users tab doesn't appear for Technicians.
  • WashUp has to have authorized your organization for the customer first.

Assign users to a customer

To assign users:

  1. Select Home in the sidebar.
  2. Select the customer's row in the Dashboard table.
  3. Select the Assigned Users tab.
  4. Select Assign User.
  5. Tick everyone who covers this customer.
  6. Select Assign Users.

The customer appears on their dashboard from their next page load. No re-sign-in.

Remove a user from a customer

To remove someone:

  1. Open the customer's Assigned Users tab.
  2. Select the remove icon on their row.
  3. Select Remove User.

They lose access to that customer immediately, and every assignment they held for it is dropped.

Good to know
  • Service Partner Admins reach every authorized customer by design, so they show as Auto-assigned and can't be removed from one.
  • An assignment covers the whole customer—all of that customer's locations.
  • You can also set coverage when you add someone, under Assign to Companies in the Add New User modal.

Common questions

Can I give a technician one site instead of the whole customer?

No. Assigning someone to a customer gives them every location that customer has.

Can I undo this?

Yes. Remove them from the customer's Assigned Users tab at any time. Service Partner Admins can't be removed, since they reach every authorized customer by design.

Will they get notified?

No. Tell them yourself, or they'll only notice the customer appearing on their Dashboard.
