Enter your member count, average monthly price and churn rate to see how many members you lose each month, what that costs you over the next year, and what cutting churn by one point would keep. Average monthly churn was 7.8% in Q3 2026 across 3,000+ U.S. locations (Rinsed via ICA). The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.
The 7.8% average splits into 4.5% members who cancelled and 3.3% failed card payments. Cancellations usually trace to the wash itself; failed cards are a billing fix. For what drives the first number, read why car wash members cancel.
In an ICA consumer survey, 88% of customers named wash quality as a top reason they stay loyal (ICA CAR WASH Pulse via DRB). WashUp Inspections turn your equipment into a bay-by-bay check, and Services put preventative maintenance on a schedule, so the torn wrap or the clogged nozzle gets caught before a member notices.

Average monthly churn was 7.8% in Q3 2026: 4.5% voluntary cancellations and 3.3% failed card payments, across more than 3,000 U.S. locations in Rinsed’s quarterly report. Under the average is good. If you’re above it, split the two: cancellations point at the wash and the value, failed cards point at billing.
Divide the members who left during the month by the active members you had at the start of the month. 234 cancellations out of 3,000 members is 7.8%. Count failed payments that never recovered, not just the members who asked to cancel.
Multiply members lost by your average monthly price. At 3,000 members, $30 a month and 7.8% churn, that’s 234 members and $7,020 a month walking out, or about $84,000 over the next year from a single month of cancellations.
Mostly over the wash. In an ICA consumer survey, 88% of customers named wash quality as a top reason they stay loyal, and 31% said a car that wasn’t fully cleaned was the top cause of a bad visit.
