Link an inspection to a task

Put the tunnel walkthrough on the opening checklist instead of trusting people to remember it. Attach the inspection to a task and the task can only be closed by running that inspection.

What you'll need

• Available on the Bundle plan, or on a Custom plan that includes Inspections and Tasks.
• Building and editing tasks is for Admins and Super Admins.
• The inspection already built against a wash bay in Inspections.

Attach an inspection to a task

To attach an inspection:

1. Open the task list from the Task Library, or start a new one-time task.
2. On the task row, select Attach Inspection above the task text.
3. Choose the bay under Select wash bay/area.
4. Choose the inspection under Select inspection to attach.
5. Select Attach.
6. Under Advanced Options, set the Time Frame start and end times.
7. Select Save Changes.

The inspection's name appears as a chip above the task text, and the task row picks up a link reading "Perform the Morning Tunnel Check inspection for the Tunnel 1."

What changes once an inspection is attached

Attaching one rewrites the task's options for you, so read the row again before you save.

• Advanced Options opens on its own and Set specific time frame is ticked. A time frame is required—saving without one is rejected.
• Require photo submission, Require completion notes, and Repeat throughout the day are greyed out. The inspection collects the evidence instead.
• Only allow Super Admins and Admins to view and complete this task still works.
• The task's own circle is disabled, with the note "You can only complete this task from the linked inspection."

Remove the inspection

Select the red X beside the inspection chip above the task text, then save the list. The task goes back to a normal task with its options unlocked.
