Incidents

Incident priority and progress explained

Priority says how urgent a claim is. Progress says what it is waiting on. Both are internal, anyone can set them, and both lock once the claim closes.

October 15, 2026

Status tells you whether a claim is open. Priority and progress tell you which open claim to pick up, and why the last one is still sitting there.

Priority

Priority is how urgently a claim needs attention. It carries a colored flag so it reads off the list at a glance.

PriorityFlag
UrgentRed
HighYellow
NormalBlue
LowGray

Priority starts empty. Anyone at the location can set it from the claim's Details tab, and Remove Priority clears it again.

Progress

Progress is the step inside the claim's current status: where the work has actually reached. The steps belong to the status, so each one has its own list.

StatusProgress steps
Under ReviewNew, Reviewing Footage, Awaiting Customer, Awaiting Photos / Videos, Escalated
In ProgressGetting Estimates, Awaiting Approval, Scheduled for Repair, In the Shop, Awaiting Parts, Ready to Contact, On Hold

A claim nobody has touched reads as the first step of its status: New under Under Review, Getting Estimates under In Progress. Remove Progress clears it.

How they behave

  • Anyone at the location can set priority and progress. Neither one needs an Admin.
  • Changing the status clears the progress step, because the old step does not exist in the new list.
  • Closing a claim locks both, and a closed claim shows neither.
  • You can filter and sort the list by either one, on open claims.
Good to know
  • Both are internal. The customer's tracking page shows the claim's status and its four-step timeline, never your priority or your progress step.
  • On Hold is a progress step, not a status. A claim on hold is still In Progress and still on your open list.
  • Priority has no effect on the default order of the list. It is a label your team reads, not a queue WashUp sorts for you.
