I can't complete this task

Nine times out of ten it's the task's time frame. A vacuum-hose check set to run between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM is locked before 9:00 and, on a list with Task Aging off, locked again after 11:00.

If you get Task Not Ready

The task has a time frame that hasn't opened yet. The window names the hours it will be ready. Select I Understand and come back inside those hours.

If the circle is crossed out and won't respond

The tooltip on the circle says which of these it is.

• "This task's time window has closed and can no longer be completed" means the window ended on a list with Task Aging off. It's Missed, and there's no override. An Admin can rebuild it as a one-time task for today.
• "You can only complete this task from the linked inspection" means the task is tied to an inspection. Open the inspection from the link on the task row, run it, and the task closes with it.

If a window opens asking for notes or a photo

The task was built with Require completion notes or Require photo submission. Complete Task stays disabled until every required box is filled. A note has to have real text in it, and a photo has to finish uploading.

If the task repeats through the day

Only the oldest unfinished slot can be completed. Work down the list in order, and note that a slot from an earlier day can never be caught up: you'll see "This slot has already passed and cannot be completed."

If you get an access denied message

You're not assigned to the location that owns the task list. Ask an Admin to add you to that location under Settings > Users & Roles.
