Incidents

I can't change an incident's status

Status is for Admins and Super Admins, and it locks once a claim is Resolved or Denied. Resolved and Denied are not in the dropdown at all.

October 15, 2026

The Status control on a claim's Details tab is narrower than it used to be. Three things turn it off, and they are easy to tell apart.

If you're a Team Member

Changing a status is for Admins and Super Admins. A Team Member sees the status as a plain pill with nothing to select, and the Resolved / Denied button is not there either.

You can still do most of the work on a claim: edit its details, assign it, set its Priority and Progress, add notes and photos, email it, print it, and copy the tracking link. Ask an Admin to move the status, or to change your role.

If the claim is already Resolved or Denied

A closed claim is frozen. Its status, priority, progress and assignee all lock together, and trying anyway comes back with "Status is locked once an incident is resolved." Nothing reopens a closed claim, so the record stands as it was closed.

Notes still work. If something new comes in on an old claim, add it as a note so the timeline carries it.

If you're looking for Resolved or Denied in the dropdown

They are not in it, by design. Status only offers Under Review and In Progress.

Closing a claim goes through the Resolved / Denied button in the top right instead, which checks the documentation your company requires for that outcome first. See Close out an incident as Resolved or Denied.

If the progress step disappeared

That is the status change doing its job. Progress steps belong to a status, so moving a claim from Under Review to In Progress clears the old step and starts it on the new list. Pick the new step from Progress.
